Opinion and Blogs

As a scientist, it is often difficult to have an opinion. Having an opinion is often used to discredit ones scientific research. However, we are also humans. We see things. We feel things. We also live a human life. Only a dead person is a person without any kind of bias.

Please do not overestimate the power of my opinion. I do not see it that impactful enough to overthrow any government. If you do not agree to what I think, take the higher road and just accept it. I will not force you to believe on what I believe in. I am convinced that blogs, commentaries and of course journalism in general, etc. are important pillars of a society that aims to advance human well-being. A baby’s shoes can become too small. Someone has to tell the mother about that if she does not notice it herself. Of course, there is a difference between freedom of speech and sheer lies or hatred. At the same time, opinions cannot claim and should not claim to be the truth. If its the truth then its not an opinion. It is that simple.
